Teresa Aitken BA (Hons), Costs Lawyer - Director

Prior to beginning Northern Costing in 1996, Teresa gained a BA (Hons) Degree in Business.  Teresa became an Associate Law Costs Draftsman in 2000 and a Fellow of the Association of Law Costs Draftsmen in 2004.  She recently became one of the first costs draftsmen to be granted rights of audience and the right to conduct costs litigation for the purposes of Sections 27 & 28 of the Courts and Legal Services Act 1990, gaining the title Costs Lawyer.

On moving to its present offices in April 2001 and during the 10 years of growth within PI Costing Plc Teresa has been instrumental in the creation and streamlining of each department to increase efficiency and client service.

At the present time Teresa heads the Negotiations Team, negotiating costs with the defendants to provide the best service possible for our clients on a one to one basis.

Teresa and the PI Costing Team liaise with all
PI Costing clients on an annual basis. This includes internal and external company Seminars and Conferences.

Amongst other areas, Teresa is an active member within the Doncaster Chamber as part of the Training Focus Group, and is involved in the Investors in People, and Yorkshire and Humberside Assessment Team.

Whilst spending as much of her limited spare time as possible with her young family, Teresa participates in many charity fund raising events which have recently included sky diving and a bicycle marathon across Poland, as also the team building away days held throughout the year at PI Costing Plc.
